Reese's 2nd Birthday

I'm not much of a party planner, but we did a sprinkler play-date in celebration of Reese turning 2.  (Whoopie -terrible two's- bring em on! ;) My Mom got a sheet cake from Costco -super yummy! (That's what Edward and I had at our wedding reception, and I think we've been craving it ever since ;) And the Adults sat around and visited while the kids played.
Our water pressure was running low, so the sprinklers didn't end up being as fun as the cheap plastic pool full of cheap plastic balls.

 Hayden getting his party on!

The boys playing with one of Mommy's (yard-sale) Birthday gifts the next morning.
Little by little they are starting to play together better/ Reese is getting less stingy.

Happy Birthday Sweet Reesey Man!
We love you more than words can say!

World Wildlife Zoo

My family came to visit, so we took them to the zoo!
Reese loved seeing all the animals.

Monkeys:
Rhino:

Tortoise:

Reese's favorite part was the Lori Parrot feeding.
"I'm not gonna hurt cha, I just wanna pet ya!"
(If you know what that quote is from -you're pretty cool)
Come on...hop on my hand...
Not on my head!

And finally...Success!
Hayden didn't take much notice of the birds, until...

My favorite part is always the giraffe feeding.
Uncle Brian helped Reese feed this guy.

Reese is 110% Edward's son.  Notice the disgusted look on his face after getting licked by the giraffe.
Uh, somebody wash this slime off me!  Classic Edward.

My Mom's favorite part of the whole zoo was this ride.
I need to take her to splash mountain!
At 36 inches Reese was barely tall enough to ride, and he loved it!

These are the only two pictures I got from the aquarium portion of the zoo.
The majority of it is still under construction, and my camera kept reflecting off the glass.
This zoo is my favorite!  It feels like the animals are so close. I highly recommend it!

Working in the yard...

For Reese's 2nd Birthday I got him a bubble leaf blower,
so now he can "help" Edward in the yard.
He sure loves helping his Daddy!
Hayden just supervised things from my new backpack carrier.
(Which I found at a yard sale super cheap!)

This is the face I get every-time I try and take Hayden's picture.
He'll be smiling and giggling, but as soon as he sees the camera it's over.

Reese's Vocab at 2yrs

Hot, Hat, Uh Oh, No, Yeah, Eat, Mmm, Eeew, Bye Bye, Baby, Kitty, Mama, Daddy, Shoe, Thank you. For everything else it's "Dee".

He understands everything we say really well, and is good at expressing himself/ communicating what he wants, but is behind on his speech.  The words he does know, he knows well, and takes care to enunciate every syllable.  I just keep hoping and praying his vocabulary will expand soon!
